(pdf) The FMLA does not allow carriers to violate contractual obligations protected by the Railway Labor Act regarding paid vacation and personal leave time. Prior to this decision, carriers forced employees requesting time off under The FMLA does not allow carriers to violate contractual obligations protected by the Railway Labor Act regarding the FMLA to first use their vacation or PLD's. |

The Railroad Safety Enhancement Act of 2007
2007. The latest version of the legislation is attached. The House version of this bill (H.R. 2095, The Federal Railroad Safety
Improvement Act) contains stronger language, especially with regard to limbo time and the use of camp cars. S.1889 was crafted as a
softer version so as to get it through the Senate before they adjourn in November, with the hopes that the differences will be worked out
when the bill goes to the House/Senate Conference Committee, a committee made up of members chosen by a democratic-controlled
